Welcome to the 1939 Dodge 1.5 Ton Cummins Build
We have all seen trucks being built where only the best of the best parts were used and the best people worked on it while the owner just opened up a checkbook.
Well I am embarking on a new build for my 1939 Dodge 1.5 Ton Flatbed truck. I have been on the Cummins Forum for awhile and have seen random acts of giving and kindness, I have also seen that many members are willing to barter.
This website was created to show the progress of the project and give everyone a way to contribute. Take a look around and you will find a parts list of things needed and what we have already. Another important part is to give credit to everyone’s generosity, to the right of this page in the sponsors sections you will find all of the people who have helped thus far.
First and foremost this is a community build, this is an opportunity for all of us to get together and make an awesome truck. This will prove to be a once in a lifetime type opportunity to be a part of such a unique project. In the end we will build the only 1939 Dodge 1.5 Ton 5.9L Cummins powered truck. The base vehicle is what is known as a California Special made 20 cars before the end of the line in Los Angeles. One of the underlying themes of the build is to restore this 70 year old vehicle to appear original from the outside and harness the power and amenities of newer vehicles. Even the original frame will be used to make this a real sleeper.
Thank you for visiting the site, please register and join in on the fun of this build. Once registered you can comment on pictures and videos as well as post in the Forum.
Don’t forget to mark this as a favorite so you can keep coming back and be a part of this great project.
